Why Natural?

While SVBC member farmers have differing approaches, we all share some common philosophies we feel define “natural” beef:

  • raising our cows on pasture, allowing the animal to exhibit natural instinctive behavior
  • practicing rotational grazing, which encourages soil vitality and reduces the risk of soil erosion
  • providing our cows with access to fresh water daily
  • selling beef that is minimally processed with zero additives

Some of us have taken additional steps to protect our Valley’s natural resources and our animal health, such as:

  • reducing or eliminating hormones
  • reducing or eliminating antibiotic usage
  • fencing off the rivers and streams that run through our property, to prevent pollution
